The Pickup

Since more than 30 years Volker Bohlmeier had the idea to design his own cartridge. He started modifying the classic Denon DL 103, Audio Technica, Decca or EMT cartridges. It ended up, that EMT manufactured a cartridge for him in the mid 80es, which was based on the original TSD 15 broadcasting cartridge. When Volker Bohlmeier founded EINSTEIN Audio Components in 1988 EMT manufactured the well know TU-2 cartridge for EINSTEIN, followed by the even more famous TU-3 model with a different cartridge body, bor cantilever, different stylus shapes, as well as modified coils to achieve a lower output voltage, as well as a lower coil mass. This cartridge was reviewed by many analog specialists and got a lot of merits for it’s dynamic, well balanced and lively, meaty sound. It was and still is a fantastic cartridge.

Customer experience

Das Gerät gefällt mir sehr gut, die Plastizität der Bühne und die 3dimensionale Ortung verschiedener Aspekte in der Musik ist absolut beeindruckend.

AFTER SILENCE, THAT WHICH COMES NEAREST TO EXPRESSING THE INEXPRESSIBLE IS MUSIC

Absolutely Amazing - I enjoy it every day.

I never thought, that the Air Fore III together with the new EINSTEIN The Tonearm did make such a huge different in sound. I already had set up the EINSTEIN Pick Up cartridge at my previous turntable, so I thought that the new AF III turntable and the EINSTEIN tonearm will not make a big difference in sound. But honestly, I failed. The new combination got the system to another level. Doesn`t matter if it came to pure dynamik, fine details, three-dimensionality or live feeling. All breath taking. And as usual, similar to former listening sessions, the EINSTEIN amplifiers transferred everything to my ears, no limitation at all.
